The best 25 years of my life!!

Twenty five years ago today, I married the love of my life who also happens to be my best friend. I was a silly, little girl but I knew this was the man I wanted to be with for all eternity, and I'm so grateful he has given me a chance. Mike, here's 25 reasons why I love being married to you;
1. You're my best friend
2. You always laugh at my jokes
3. If I snore too loud, you let me sleep in our bed while you move to another one.
4. You trust me
5. I trust you!
6. You are SOOO handsome!
7. You take care of me
8. You have helped me raise 4 fantastic children
9. You make sure the house is locked up at night - 3 or 4 times
10. You are very patient
11. You love me, even though.... oh, that would take too much space!!
12. I love how you repeat yourself - over and over and over - and don't get mad when we make fun of you for doing it
13. You are a hard worker
14. I can tell you anything
15. You make holidays fun for me!
16. I love how you cuddle
17. You are always concerned about others before yourself
18. You are very generous
19. You'll watch a chick flick with me if I ask you to
20. You honor your priesthood
21. You are very respectful of me
22. You believe in me
23. You fell in love with Alex
24. I love it when you sing to me
25. I LOVE YOU!!!

... and did I mention how handsome I think you are?!?

I know I've told you this before but you're my favorite and forever isn't long enough! Happy Anniversary George!!

A boy of very little brains!

Picture this; a beautiful, Sunday evening, Mike and I are out talking to neighbors on the sidewalk. Alex comes out from inside the house holding a paper towel covered in blood!

ME: Oh no! What happened?

ALEX: (tears start now) It hurts real bad!!

ME: I'm sure it does. Where are you bleeding?

ALEX: (sticks out tongue - tip of his tongue bleeding profusely) It hurts real bad!!

ME: How did you do that?

ALEX: On the spice.

ME: On the spice? Come show me.

Alex brought me in the house, and shows me the ice tray sitting on the counter with a piece of his tongue stuck to a piece of ice.

ALEX: (tears start all over again!!) It hurts real bad!!

Now tell me....how is it possible to laugh at the circumstance and still hurt deep down for this cute, little boy??

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS TJ MAUGHAN???

Taylor is trying to take on the world - one rope course at a time!! She is a rope course instructor at a boy scout camp. No- that is not a typo. A BOY scout camp. She has been there for 2 weeks now, and seems to love it. She's learned all about knots and has repelled 54 feet without anyone supporting her. I'm really proud of her and the fact that she's out on her own doing something no one else in the family can say they've ever done. But, that's my Tij. Three months in a tent, working with scouts will certainly add something to her life. Way to go, TJ!!! See you in a few months!

I wish this was my name!!

I read the obituaries everyday! I couldn't tell you why - maybe it's to see if anyone I know has passed away, or maybe I need to make sure I'm not in them. Whatever the reason, I came across one the other day that made me smile. Maybe it was only funny because I was getting a sugar high from my bowl of cereal, but I thought I would share it with whoever comes across this blog. Someones parents have a great sense of humor!!!

A. T. C. 9/23/89 ~ 6/06/09 Our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend and valiant warrior fought his last courageous battle against cancer. Falling asleep for the last time on June 06, 2009, Adam is now reunited with his cousin Paulie Wogs in heaven.

HEY - if you know of an unusual name, let me know. It's always fun to see people's originality!! My niece goes to school with a Holly Wood, and I know of a student at my school named Dixie Cupp. Whoo! These are all good!!

I LOVE MUSHROOMS!!!

I just love mushrooms!! And not just to eat - even though they are tasty morsels! I've decided mushrooms are little kisses from Mac. How else do you explain the mass of mushrooms that are consistently around his little headstone? (see picture below) OK - so his grave is under a tree, so it's shady and sometimes moist. BUT....

... how do you explain this cute, little grouping below? This is the 3rd group of mushrooms I've found.... IN MY YARD!! I have found 2 in my flowerbeds, and then this morning we woke up to 5 little kisses on our front lawn. WE HAVE A SOUTH FACING YARD!! Not nearly enough shade to use as an excuse! So, just let this grandma think it's kisses from her grandson! It makes her happy!! And next time you see a mushroom, give someone special a kiss!!!
