I'm on a horse...

Imagine Mike and I relaxing, watching the Olympics together. Cuddling on a cold, winter night. Ahhhh. This is nice. But wait.... I've never seen this commercial before!?! Now imagine me laughing hilariously, uncontrollably. Running up the stairs to the bathroom because I'm going to wet my pants I'm laughing so hard! And imagine Mike just laughing at me. (Although he can't deny he didn't like the commercial, too!)

Nick names, nick names, nick names!!

If you know anything about our family, we are always calling each other by names other than our given names. I thought for posterity sake, and for a good laugh, that I would list our nick names, and some of them the reason for the name. So if you're not interested, you can stop reading this post right now..... but have a great day!!

Mike - George (his middle name, and there are too many Mike's in the world!) Papa Joe (the kids have called him that for a long time -? Now calling him that to grand kids instead of grandpa) And then of course there's all the true, blue favorites; Babe, Love muffin, sweetie... but only I call him those names.

Natalie - Nanny (Have you ever heard a little kid say 'Natalie'?) Nat-the-nut (thanks to my Uncle Clark) Nat, and Bertha Buns (don't ask....! Actually, where did that name come from? Dad???) and My Muv Muff which my kids gave me, and I hope it's a sign of affection.

Colby - Buddha (you should have seen him as a baby, then you would understand), Colby-Maughan-Kanobi (get it? Obi - Wan- Kanobi?) B, Colbs, Cubby (thanks to friend Jordan)

Kierra - the poor child only has one nick-name I can think of Key - airhead. We'll have to change that!

Morgan - Mo (short for Morgan, but also because she looks like an eskimo baby), Mo-Jo (add Joseph Smith's moniker to that because sometimes that hair of hers slicks forward like you see Joseph Smith's in some pictures of him) Morgan - Maw - gan (that's how solicitors say our last name :( )

Cali - Lou (the middle name that's not her middle name that is famous for being her middle name. It was even officially on her wedding invite) Cal-Lou, Louie, Lewis.... you get the picture!

Josh - Joshua Barrett (that's what Alex calls him) Hinckley (Hey! he plays sports! they always call each other by their last name) Hinck

McKallister - YES! even he has nick-names!! - Mac, Baby Mac (he'll be 40 years old and we'll still call him Baby Mac!) Big Mac, Mr. Mac

Oakland - Little Lou-Lou (Gpa Scott gave her this name) Okee-Dokee, Oakley, Okee

Taylor - TJ, Tij (I guess that's how you would spell it) Squidgit, Tay-tay, Taylor Scott which evolved into Tater Tot (actually, I think Gpa Scott gave her ALL these names!) And Alex used to call her Deon and that stuck, too.

Alex - Big Al, Al, Albert, Fat Albert, Frieda or Frieda Jacobsen Jr. (another don't ask! That's a name I gave him)

So, that's it! Now that's just the immediate family. All my friends growing up had nick-names (Swooz!), I gave my sister-in-law a nick name, but only I call her that (hey, Reg!), and our neighbors all have nick names (FrankFrank, JoANN, Jill Bill, Marky Joe) and our family animals always had - and still have - nick names (Bbbbooookie, Po-us Dee, Crusty Rusty, Sambo, Stinker, Go-lith, Devil dog, Angel girl, Nona Nubbies, Moosey Face)... I could go on and on! Even Cali's waterskis have nicknames - meet Carl and Lorraine!

As I read back through this post, I am wondering if I really want my posterity to know all of this! They are going to wonder what kind of ancestors they have. The poor things are going to think we are all loony! And can you imagine their pedigree chart?!
