Warm weather-pinterest fun

Shame on whoever told me about Pinterest!  Corinne, Cali and Pamela - you should be ashamed of yourselves.  BUT  look what fun we had!!!

We got some clear plastic sheeting (in the paint department), rolled it out and folded it in half. Then we sealed the sides with duct tape. Green was everyone's choice of the day.

When there was just a little water, it did look green.  Now it's a pretty baby blue.
Sooo much fun running on water!
H seemed down on all fours more than he was up.  I wasn't sure if it was on purpose or an accident...
They loved chasing the air bubbles in it.  Yes, we had a few leaks, but all in all it was fantastic!  A keeper for sure.
And N got glasses.  She looks so grown up.  She actually looks like she might be 1 year old soon!!!

My political soapbox!

I've never been one to get thoroughly involved in a political topic or to push an agenda. Don't get me wrong; I study out who to vote for and I make sure and vote, but I've never had a sign in my yard or passed out flyer's for a candidate. But something has gotten to me lately and I can't keep quiet!

There are rumors that our school board and superintendent are bullying teachers and staff into loyalty and even early retirement or firing in some instances. Maybe it's because I've worked in the school system for so many years. Maybe it's because I've become one of those vocal special ed moms. I don't know but I am going to see this to the end.

I attended, and even spoke at last night's board meeting. It was a very emotional meeting, both for and against the board and superintendent. I am going to hold a 'town meeting' and have some speakers tell their side of the story. I have been in contact with a couple of reporters and may have a radio show allow some people on their morning show with examples of what is happening. I have made and distributed flyer's! I'm going crazy!!!

It's not like I have time for this. Believe me. There's a lot of things I could and should be doing. But at the same time I feel very strongly that this should not be happening. I will post more, when and if there is anything to post about it.

Let's just pray that our children will not get the worst part of this.

Happy Easter 2012! And a treat for us...

First the treat for us; Iceberg has opened a restaurant just 3 blocks from our home! We could walk there, get their ginormous, mini shakes and walk home and still gain 5 lbs! This is a good / bad thing. We love their shakes. We introduced ourselves and told the staff to remember us because we would be there often. I don't think they knew how truly serious we really were!
And now it's Easter!
I have to be honest; I'm not a real Easter fan. No, let me back up. I love the true meaning of Easter. I know that Christ suffered great and terrible pains - for me and because of me - before dying on the cross and then being resurrected which allows us to be redeemed for our sins and gives us the opportunity, if we live righteously, to be with Him and our loved ones again for all eternity! But where did this weird bunny come from? Not a fan.
If it wasn't for TJ we wouldn't have even boiled eggs this year let alone color them. Thank goodness for my little girl who in some ways (holidays!) will never grow up. And she is a true artist... nothing plain and ordinary for this young lady...
I'm not much into angry birds, but even I know these are fantastic! She did a pig, too but I guess I didn't get a close up pic of it. She struggled as to what else she should make, so I asked for a favor...
..my first choice was Elmo, but "his face shape is all wrong." Ha! Well, then Bert. His face shape is right. And low and behold, I get a Bert egg. We laughed at each other because I was willing and not questioning as I colored a white pom pom with a magic marker to make his hair, and she was willing to make her mother an egg decorated as a Sesame Street character. We truly are a weird family!!!
