Alex's first official spelling test!

I am so proud of this little man!! He is starting to get a real interest in what sounds letters make and how to put them together! Yes, the teacher had to help him, but he's finally a little interested in trying. Way to go, Alex!!

Taylor's quilt

Here is just a sample of the cute quilt Taylor made for her boyfriend Brandon. He is on his mission in the Dominican Republic and he asked her to make him a blanket. If you know Taylor at all that means she's going to go all out! And she did!! She didn't just get fleece and cut the edges then knot them - oh, no! - she actually quilted squares together, including pictures of her and Brandon. She's very crafty and ingenious! I didn't dare show any more of the quilt because no one in his family has seen it, yet. But I was too proud of her accomplishment to not give you a small sampling! Way to go, TJ!!

Our new grandbaby is a .....

GIRL!!!!
No, the following picture isn't 'proof', even though I have seen the 'proof' with my very own eyes. The picture below is of her face - such as it is at 17 weeks gestation. Yes, she does look a little like ET, but so did you and everyone else at that age, just not as adorable as my granddaughter!! I decided to give her a little privacy and not flaunt the 'girl picture' since she was a little shy about showing us during the ultrasound. But she did have the hiccups, opened and closed her mouth, and moved her fingers around! She's a mover and a shaker so Kierra will lose some sleep once she gets bigger!! (It's all worth it, Kierra!)

According to all the measurements Little Girl Maughan is due 9/9/09. How cool would that be?

(A special THANK YOU to my friend Tiffany who did both of my grandchildren's ultrasounds - allowing anyone the parents wanted to invite to be a part of the unveiling. What an amazing way to feel a part of your grandchild's life. She's given me a gift more precious than I could ever express - a few minutes in the 'lives' of these 2 sweet grand babies!! Thank you Tiffany!)

March 20, 2009 Draper Temple Dedication

Taylor, our neighbors Kirsten and Alex and I got to go to the Draper Temple cornerstone dedication on March 20, 2009. Taylor and Kirsten were in the choir and Alex and I were the paparazzi!
We got there VERY early, but look at the beautiful sunrise!

YES!!! Alex and I really were that close to these two!!

When President Monson asked this girl from the crowd to come up and put some mortar in
all the girls in the choir said, "Awwwww" in perfect unison!!

We didn't see President Packer arrive, but he was there as well!!

The whole reason we got to go - aren't they beautiful?
Even the choir director got to put some mortar in.

Taylor, Kirsten and Alex at the end of the dedication ceremony. It was a great day!
